For the month of January, I’m doing a personal challenge of running 5 miles at 5AM every day in January minus Sundays. At the time I’m typing this, we are at the half way point. I’m doing the challenge with 10 others and have learned a lot already in terms of life and leadership.

Anyway, someone in the group was talking about how they weren’t enjoying getting out of their nice cozy bed at 4:30AM in the freezing cold to go run 5 miles. They wanted to know how the rest of the group was “embracing the suck.”

There were a lot of good responses. In fact, I like what Alex said. He said it’s OK to have dread. Just don’t let the dread drive you!

It was only a quick text thread but I had a lot of thoughts on the topic.
